Well, the hammock is now hung between the old cottonwood stump and the pine tree, a reason for celebration! Laying out there, in the courtyard, on a warm spring day in May, makes me realize how much activity I have missed this winter. During winter’s blustery days, I rarely venture out into the courtyard. Blanketed in white, from the front window, it seems silent and empty, but now with spring here the activity catches me off guard. Finches, owls, starlings, robins, sparrows, squirrels and even the frogs are singing in the pond across the road. Finally summer is almost here!
